Install 9i oracle

Oracle Net Services 9. Change these passwords here. If it is not there, add it and set it to at least 2. See Oracle 9 i Administrator's Guide for more information. Note : Oracle9 i and Oracle9 i AS are installed on different systems. Create required UNIX account and groups. Preinstall any component-specific components on the middle tier and preconfigure an origin database. Oracle9 i AS requires an active database connection. OUI uses this connection to add database objects to the origin database. The origin database can be the database that holds OP database objects, but it is not mandatory that the origin database be the one that holds OP.

The origin database is typically located on a database server tier. It can also be located in the same tier where Oracle9 i AS is installed. Installation Types: Select the Enterprise Edition option 4. Now you should have three directories Disk1, Disk2 and Disk3 containing installation files.

Check oraInst. Install with Installer in interactive mode. Answer the questions in the Installer, we use the following install directories. Create the Database. First start the Instance, just to test your initTYP2. Start Listener. Create symbolic Links from the Startup Directories. Install Oracle Options optional. Before running this scripts adjust the initSID. After this, you can reset the paramters to smaller values. Accept the defaults provided and select Next.

At the Installation Types screen, choose the Administrator option button. Select Next. On the Installation Types screen, choose the Runtime option button. The installer will now proceed to implement the chosen components. Select the Perform typical configuration check box. The wizard will pre-select a naming method for you.
