After the s, the North communists attacked continuously the South in order to take over it. When they completely occupied the South Vietnam in April ,the Vietnamese communists have governed the Vietnamese people by bayonets ,rifles, harassed policies ,and they have treated cruelly, tortured, persecuted, and terrorized the Vietnamese people ,especially because of their religious and political beliefs, and they have been suffered economic hardships over the last 34 years.

That is why they have risked their lives by small fragile boats and rafts to escape the V. C 's prison systems for five decades. Moreover, the V. Cs have forced all the Vietnam Republic Officers and soldiers to concentrated camps. Most of them were killed and some others were tortured and imprisoned to death. My family was a victim and witness of the V. C's violence, too. To fulfill their aspiration for liberty, the Vietnamese people had found every way to escape the V.

C prison systems. They disguised themselves like some farmers to cross the Vietnam- Cambodia frontier. Some people crossed by walk in the forest and some others went by small fragile plastic cans and boats. Most of them were intercepted by the V.

C,Cambodia, and Pol Pot armies. They were raped, extorted, imprisoned and killed. There were several hundred thousand people died silently in the sea. Most of them were killed by Thailand pirates.

Luckily,I escaped from the death after a cruel torture in Cambodia prison. Seven days later, i decided to escape with some my imprisoned friends to cross the Cambodia-Thailand border. On the way to flee, some imprisoned friends were arrested again and tortured to death.

To fulfill a long hard trip,I went to Kongpongsom harbor to sell some gold in order to buy some dry provisions. Two days later, I continued my hard and dangerous trip. I stayed up all night to go down a small fragile boat with 30 Vietnamese people and two Cambodia ones.

We had to sit up with a very small and narrow space with a crowed people. We departed at 3 a. It took about two days during the boat running on the sea,I had mixed feelings. I really felt so happy and sad when i left my country.

I was happy because i had escaped the blood-thirsty V. C regime. I was sad because i left all my intimate relatives away in Vietnam. When my emotion was stirring and jumbling, suddenly my friends called me and they noticed that the boat's engine was out of order.

We tried to repair it,but some parts of engine had broken. Then we started the fire to call a near by boats or ships to rescue us,but no one answered. We were waiting in a hopeless situation. Our boat had floated on the sea for three days, we had no food and medicines. Some people prayed, some babies cried for thirsty milk ,and some others screamed for panic. Some women decided to cut on their fingers and wrists in order to take their blood to feed their babies.

Most women died for losing blood. We prayed and cried silently. Then we tore our clothes to make a sign"S. S",we painted it by our blood. Three days later, while we were still waiting in hopeless situation, our health was more and more bad to worse. Most of us were exhausted by a long trip days without food and drinking water. They died after a few days when they lost their blood. We had prayed for them and we threw their bodies into the sea. One day later, I was exhausted too,and I was unconscious.

A fanciful scenery with sufferings and deaths began appearing in my mind. I tried to forget that perspective, but it always appeared in my memory repeatedly.

I cried secretly and prayed to rest in peace. Suddenly, the infuriated storm waves sank my boat to the bottom of the sea. Some people had screamed in panic and hopeless situation. They had slept in silent forever in the sea. Fortunately, I was survived by a small raft of the boat.
