Is there a log somewhere? I dont know wtf is going on but vista keeps dropping my internet connections. I dont know what else to do.. I have been reading and a lot of people who have this problem suggest that diabling the SPI firwewall in the router will solve the prob as its incompatable with Vista. Is this true, did this solve anyone elses wireless drops problem?

Regardless of the router, provided its an SPI Firewall thats in in.. Linksys Netgear Dlink all use it Start new topic. Recommended Posts. Posted March 14, I tried disabling qos and ip6 in the wireless card adapter properties. I got a connection. After being put on hold to speak to a supervisor, she told me that Bell would change something in my configuration, so that I should see an increase in speed to a minimum of within 24 hours. No luck. I would press the "Connect" button, the web page would refresh, and I would still have IP numbers of 0. It's possible that it's a temporary Sympatico problem i. I had to do all of this in a rush, yesterday morning, because I'm now on a business trip away from home for a week.

Could anyone suggest remedies or additional diagnoses? If it's easy, I can have one of my sons try it out. For that, I'll have to be at home, though.

Is there a possibility you are having two separate issues? Could there be a synch issue with your low speed connection and it is wreaking havoc on your connection when you are trying to test the routers Try this forum as well to see if others have your issue: » Linksys.

I've noticed a recent issue on reconnecting a PPPoE session after improperly closing one. Bell could be finally putting limits on how many times you can use your login, and something went wrong implementing this new system. Bell Patrick join Simply post in Sympatico Direct with your login info and I will take a look at it.

I'm finally back home. No extra hardware required. Currently explained in three forum posts here , here and here. Here are the cliff notes if you find the above posts either not verbose enough or a bit too verbose:.

For detailed information, see also post Also a TFTP server has to be setup on another device on the same network. The TFTP server will provide the image to flash. First stop the autoboot in U-Boot by pressing enter on the serial console. After a successful transfer the size of the file is printed.

This has to match the size on the TFTP server and is needed in the next steps for flashing. If the transfer failed, then check the network cabling and the settings of the router and TFTP server.

Do not continue until this works correctly. At last erase and unprotect the flash for writing, then copy the loaded image from RAM to flash. For copying the load address, the flash address and the image size are need. This is the most critical part as by erasing this part of the flash the router will loose its OS. But do not worry as U-Boot will still be there for flashing. Since this part is identical for all devices, see Basic configuration.
